The Fine Art of Stationery: Mira Aster

Today I am excited to be showcasing the work of a true artist, Anne Millett of Mira Aster who creates from her Northern California studio and is known for gorgeous stitched invitations and delicate fabric details.  Combining color with pattern and great design, her stationery is some of the best on the planet.

With an admiration for her unique vision, we began collaborating back when we were both New York City girls and since then we have joined forces on an array of projects from wedding and bat mitzvah invitations to personal stationery as well as (my favorite!) signature illustrated maps.

She has also sewn birth announcements, table number cards, sweet little placecards and even favors (like bookmarks for Oprah’s big event!)  Anne has been recognized as one of Modern Bride’s Trendsetters, an honor so well deserved!

Check out a small sampling of our projects and see more inspiring design on her website.

Seychelles map: go green!

To celebrate the new Go Green series of postage stamps released by the US post office this month, our newest postcard design depicts the green island of Mahé in the Indian Ocean. Included are the two Unesco World Heritage sites as well as a few organizations promoting sustainability and living green in the pristine islands of the Seychelles.

Go Green stamps designed by San Francisco artist Eli Noyes for United States Post Office. According to Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, the stamps are made from materials that are biodegradable and recyclable.

Feel free to contact us if you would like to receive a free copy of our unique perspective of this special island. It’s great for anyone who loves this tropical paradise, dreams of traveling there or if you are just a fan of our work.

Created in collaboration with Vegan Seychelles, promoting sustainability and compassionate living in this pristine island nation.

Couture Wedding Maps: Destination Big Sur

My wonderful clients Casey and Shelby were married at a dream destination, Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur. Their wedding map was created to show the different wedding locations and also included shuttle information for traveling around the area.

If you’ve never been to Post Ranch, it is a stunning retreat on the California coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Everything about it is perfection including a wonderful relaxing spa, the award winning restaurant Sierra Mar and the gracious staff. In the summer there is regular bus service to Big Sur from Monterey and Carmel, however, in the off season, it runs only on the weekends.
